My last few weeks at Sawbill

After much contemplation, I've decided to start a blog.  It will act both as a way of updating those that are interested in what I'm doing as well as a bit of personal journal for myself.  With that being said, I've never actually blogged before, so we'll see how this goes.
It's currently in the low 40s, and the high for today was in the 50s.  A few customers even said that they saw it snowing last night.  This is probably the last thing I expected at the end of July, and will make my transition to Nicaragua's climate in just over two weeks even stranger.  It did make our Christmas in July party seem a bit more like actual Christmas though, which was pretty awesome!
My summer up here at Sawbill has gone by way two fast, and I can't believe that I will be home in two weeks!  Even stranger is that I will only have a few nights home before flying off to Washington, DC on the morning of August 14th!  While excited, I'd be lying if I said I weren't nervous.  This will definitely be a big change, and something that will take some getting used to.  I'm hoping that Spanish will come easily and that I will actually be able to communicate with my first host family.   I guess I do know some of the essentials... "Donde esta el bano,'  'A mi me gusta comer," etc. (I'm assuming I'll learn how to type accents soon).
Well, I'm going to try to keep these posts brief, but we'll see how that goes.  I'll try my best!  So, I'll end this entry with a picture of the Sawbill crew on Christmas Eve in July right after decorating Christmas cookies.  This pretty much sums up the crew.   This is my 4th and most likely last summer working up here.  It's been a great run, and I've met some pretty amazing people.  I can't thank Bill and Cindy (my bosses) enough for everything, and will definitely miss the entire crew when I leave!
